Ocean State Testing was founded and incorporated as a non-destructive testing facility in 1976. It opened for business at its present location on the former Quonset Point navy base in North Kingston, R.I.. The company experienced slow but steady growth as it acquired the various experience and necessary certifications to build up a formidable customer base. In the late seventies, the company performed major inspections on many of the semi-submersible off shore drilling rigs while they were stationed at Quonset Point as well as off shore. In 1979 the company applied for and was granted an Air Agency Certificate to operate an NDE repair station for aircraft. This certification ultimately allowed the company to pursue contracts and become a credible testing facility in the aircraft industry. Since its inception the company has maintained NDE naval nuclear qualifications (Nav-ships 250-1500-1) that have enabled it to fulfill many contracts over the years in the submarine shipbuilding programs. Most recently the company has become involved in boiler inspections for various utilities. Today, through our experience and accomplishments, Ocean State Testing is able to offer a variety of NDE examinations as well as training, qualifying, procedure writing, consulting and analysis. |
